How to Make Your Own Website: Complete Guide
Complete guide on how to create your own website from scratch for beginners. Starting from choosing a platform, domain, hosting, to building a website with WordPress and Elementor.

I wrote this guide on how to create a website to help beginners who want to learn to create their own website without needing to master coding or spend money on hiring the services of a web designer and developer.
I'm sure most of you will succeed.
What is needed?
You only need to invest a few hours of your time and following a good guide. A few hours? Yes, in reality, no one can create a website in a short time. It is not realistic for beginners to be able to create a website in 30 or 60 minutes as is often promised by some sources.
And a good guide? I believe you are in the right place now.
This guide consists of 5 chapters, and we will start from chapter 1 first, namely the chapter on choosing the best platform. Chapters 2 - 5 will be divided into separate pages.
Let's start from chapter 1.

Chapter 1: Choosing the Best Platform
There are more than 100+ platforms available to date. Choosing one of them is the first decision you need to make. I'll guide you to the best: easy to learn, free and one that already has a large community.
First of all, what is a platform?
In the past, around 2004 or 2005, creating a website was difficult. You need to at least learn CSS and HTML to create a website.
Not to mention learning how to design a website before coding it.
It's not easy, it takes time and maybe you need to go to a remote place to focus on studying it.
In 2024, in fact you don't even need to learn all that to create a website that can increase your income/sales in the online world, because some people have created a platform that can make it easier for you to create a website.
With the platform, you can create your own website without needing to take training courses.
What is the Best Platform for Creating a Website?
There are many platform options that you can choose to create a website. There were over a hundred of them when I checked on the site W3Tech.
According to statistics, these are the most used platforms:

As you can see in the statistics above, WordPress is the most popular platform in the world with a market share of 43%.
The Question: Why is WordPress so popular? Because WordPress…
- Easy to use / user-friendly
- FREE and no ads will be embedded on your website
- Has a large community
- Websites built with it will appear responsive on all devices including mobile phones and tablets
They are a great platform choice as well. It just has some limitations, such as:
- Not free
- Need to choose a minimum plan which costs $8.5/month (WIX) to remove ads
- Limited bandwidth and storage on the cheapest plan (WIX)
- The website you place on their platform is not 100% yours
For those of you who are just starting out, I recommend using WordPress.
I personally also use WordPress on all the websites I own (including Hosting Advisor) and I believe WordPress will be a good fit for you too.
And the good news: you will learn how to create your own website using WordPress in this guide.
