IdCloudHost was founded in April 2015 and claims to have more than +300,000 service users from all over Indonesia and abroad.

They have three offices spread across Sukabumi, Jakarta and Pekanbaru.

An extraordinary achievement, isn't it?

Maybe you're wondering: What does IdCloudHost do?

As the name suggests, IdCloudHost already uses cloud technology, no longer using classic technology.

And with the technology of cloud hosting, the hope is that their server uptime can be more stable than its competitors who still use classic web hosting technology.

Is that true?

They even provide a 99.99% uptime guarantee. That is a very bold claim.

I'm telling you: Almost all Indonesia hosting providers love to lie excessively in terms of claims to promote their sites.

Claims such as the fastest, 99.99% uptime, number 1 support in Indonesia, price cheapest hosting – these have become powerful merchandise to convince new customers.

And as in my previous review, the claims from hosting companies do not necessarily match the reality, let alone their uptime guarantee claims.

In fact, based on our monitoring results in 2024, only 2 of the 8 providers we monitored had uptime stability above 99.90%.

How is the quality of IdCloudHost?

To find the answer, I purchased the IdCloudHost "Starter Pro" hosting package, then tested it on a WordPress blog.

The purpose of this review is not only to verify the veracity of its uptime claims, but also to evaluate its speed and measure the quality of its support. By providing a clear picture, this review will help you determine whether IdCloudHost is worthy of being the home for your new website.

Advantages of Using IdCloudHost

I published this IdCloudHost review in 2018, since now and based on performance monitoring results until January 2025, I can explain the following advantages of Id

Host Uptime Fluctuations: From Bad to Good, Back to Bad, and Back to Good (2019-2025)

Host's uptime journey shows a fluctuating trend:

August 2019 - February 2021 (first 19 months): Very low uptime, among the worst among all the providers I reviewed.
October 2021 - May 2023: Drastic improvement, uptime stabilizes.
February - March 2024: Returns to decline.
May - June 2024: Stability improves again.
June 2024 - Jan 2025: Perfect.

(Do you still remember that IdCloudHost dared to provide a 99.99% uptime guarantee?)

In 2023, I asked Mas Alfian Pamungkas, CEO of IdCloudHost, about their efforts to increase uptime. The following is a direct quote from him:> Our main data center since 2020 has been in Bogor https://youtu.be/95pcd6daZbg The main obstacle to the data center in Indonesia is fiber cut, at the beginning we thought about backing up the network but once it happened that Primary and Backup were both cut, today the connection from our data center to Jakarta / Telkom / APJII / IIX / OPENIXP has a total of 6 different lines, we have also experienced 4 links going down simultaneously but because there are 2 other backups, all of which maintain uptime on the user side. For Cloud VPS, we currently use shared storage technology. when an HV / Server is dead, you can turn on the VPS / Cloud VPS on a server that is not dead, this also minimizes downtime for VPS customers. Even though these efforts have been made, the latest monitoring results show that there are still challenges in consistently maintaining service stability.

The following is the average uptime data from month to month until January 2025:

The overall average is 99.80%, but it should be noted that in the last 9 months, the uptime record has been very impressive.

2. Average Server Response

Time is Faster than the Average of All Providers in Load Testing

First, what is Load Testing?

In short, by carrying out load testing, you can see how the IdCloudHost server responds to handling high traffic.

Ideally, website speed should remain fast both when there is one visitor and when there are more visitors, for example 5, 10, or even 25 people at once.

To measure this, I used a load testing tool called Grafana K

In this test, I sent 20 virtual users (visitors) to explore the IdCloudHost test website.

PLEASE NOTE: In this test, I did not apply cache, opcache php extension, or CDN. This test is purely to measure server performance without external factors.

How does the IdCloudHost server perform in load impact testing with 20 virtual users? Here are the results:

When I updated this IdCloudHost review, I forgot to save the load test graph for IdCloudHost, and the graph, due to retention problems, has expired, so what I show here are the results only.

The average IdCloudHost server response time is 7.73 seconds with load testing of 20 virtual users. Compared to all the providers I tested, this is the lowest response time (low means fast), which means IdCloudHost is the fastest in this February 2025 research update.

Explanation of Results:

These results are reasonable for the shared hosting plan. Why?

Shared hosting servers are not as powerful as VPS servers.
Server resources are shared with other users.
In real conditions, websites usually use cache, CDN and add-ons such as Redis or OPcache to reduce server load.

3. Fast, but less efficient, technical support service

To find out how good IdCloudHost's support service is, I did several tests.

A total of six tests have been carried out since I published this IdCloudHost review on March 20 2018. Because this review about support is long, I have divided it into six parts below:

Second Testing - 2020

Updated: Second Test

I retested IdCloudHost support. This time it is more technical in nature. The goal is to find out how quickly and well their technical staff handles errors on client websites.

So, I deliberately made error establishing a database connection on the IDCloudHost test website.

For your information, I also carried out the same test as this on 17 other hosting providers. The average error correction is 22.3 minutes. However, there are 9 out of 18 providers who are able to handle it in 10 minutes or less.

What about IdCloudHost?

I sent a complaint via ticket (because technical complaints must be via ticket). Here's the contents of the conversation:

Tickets were sent on September 28 at 14:56 pm and returned at 15:

1. In just 5 minutes they were able to fix the error. 5 minutes is a fast time, although not the fastest.

In fact, IdCloudHost's support speed is #3 fastest out of 18 providers.

Third Testing - 2021

About a year after the second test, I tested again. The aim is to find out whether the quality of support services is still well maintained, whether there is an increase or a decrease.

There's no better way to find out than to test support again.

Just like the second test, the third test is a technical test. I accidentally created an error related to WordPress core files. This Error is still relatively common and quite easy to fix. So, I think all providers including IdCloudHost should be able to handle it correctly and quickly (under 15 minutes).

Testing was carried out on September 6 2021. I sent a ticket complaining about my IdCloudHost test website showing error and asking to fix it.

36 minutes later I got the first reply that they would check first. Then, 29 minutes after the first reply, they sent me a ticket again asking what changes I made to get error.

*(A very long time to just check.) *Then, when I answered that I was doing editing to the WordPress core files, 40 minutes later, they managed to fix the error properly and well.

The total time required is 105 minutes, which is very long. Compared to all the providers I tested, IdCloudHost's support in resolving this error was the longest (average for all providers was 25 minutes).

Fourth Testing - 2022

To evaluate the quality of IdCloudHost support services in 2022, we carried out another test again using a method that is not much different from the two previous tests.

It's just that the error we deliberately made is different from the previous error. This time it has to do with images that don't appear or are broken, both on images that have been uploaded and those that will be uploaded on WordPress. However, it is still an error that is easy to fix.

I sent a ticket on Wednesday, November 9 at 14:33 afternoon complaining that my test website couldn't upload images or the images were broken. Then got a reply at 14:47 as follows:

The essence of the ticket reply is that they only guide you on how to fix it without asking further questions or asking permission to carry out a more detailed check.

Even though it's just a guide, the answer is wrong.

Then, I asked them to help fix this problem, but from their second reply, it was clear that they didn't want to help, because they only asked me to look for a guide on the internet.

I think they should at least be willing to provide or find a reference link for a guide regarding this issue, because not all users understand technical matters, right?

Fifth Testing - 2023

We want to ensure that our test results accurately reflect the service received by all customers. However, if the hosting provider finds out that we are testing, there is a possibility that they will give priority to our case over others, which may affect the accuracy of the test results.

We decided not to carry out retesting until 2024 when we will conduct research that is private, not public like now.

Sixth Testing - 2024

In 2024, I finally re-tested the IdCloudHost support team.

The error that I deliberately made in this test was the same as in the second test in 2020, but with different results. If in testing 4 years ago, IdCloudHost support was so impressive that it was able to fix the error I made within 5 minutes directly on replying to the first ticket, however, in testing 2024, they took longer (12 minutes) and were not as responsive as before.

Chronology of events:

I sent my ticket at 14:06 on July 10 2024, I complained that the website had an error and could not be accessed.

Five minutes later, they reply asking for the last configuration before the error occurred. This is not the answer I was hoping for.
I answered that I had made no changes to the website.
They then said they would check.

Four minutes later, they managed to fix the error.

Overall, the time it took from the initial ticket submission until the issue was fixed was 12 minutes. This is quite fast, but I feel dissatisfied because they don't immediately carry out checks and repairs like they did in 2020. Questions about configuration at the beginning should not be necessary, because they can slow down the problem handling process.

Conclusion of testing results for Id

Cloud

Host support services in 2024:

Response speed: Fairly good, with an initial response time of 5 minutes.
Resolution time: Total 12 minutes from ticket submission to issue resolved. Longer than the 2020 test (5 minutes) with the same problem, but still within reasonable time limits.
Service quality: Decreased compared to 2020. The support team does not immediately diagnose and fix problems as before.
Efficiency: Less efficient because there are unnecessary initial questions, which slow down the handling process.
Technical capabilities: Still good, as the problem was successfully fixed within 4 minutes after checking started.
Improvement areas: The support team needs to increase response speed and reduce unnecessary questions to improve service efficiency.

Overall, IdCloudHost's support service is quite good, but there is a decline in quality compared to four years ago, especially in terms of speed and efficiency in handling problems.

It should be emphasized that this test is a simple scenario. For more complex issues, such as those tested in 2021 and 2022, it is possible that resolution will not be as rapid.

Interestingly, there are similar patterns in the 2021 and 2022 tests with this latest test. In these three tests, the support team tended to ask questions that were less relevant and did not directly get to the heart of the problem. This shows consistency in the IdCloudHost support service approach over the last few years, even though this approach may be less efficient for quick problem handling.

4. Has an automatic backup feature using JetBackup with several advantages

Of all the Indonesia shared hosting providers that I have reviewed, IdCloudHost is one of the best Best Hosting hosting providers in terms of backup features for three reasons:

They have used JetBackup where the backup and restore process can be done quickly and easily, with just 1-2 clicks. Don't use traditional methods that require you to download backup files manually and restore/upload manually too.
Access the backup files available for up to around 10 files. If I pay attention, the automatic backups are a bit random, what is clear is that the backup files are available daily, quarterly, weekly, monthly up to 3 months ago.
This backup feature is available to all customers without exception, including customers who choose even the cheapest package. You don't need to choose a more expensive plan to take advantage of this feature or pay to get this backup feature.

I have checked as of July 15 2024 when I updated this review and this backup feature still has the three advantages as I mentioned above.

5. Hosting Services Supermarket:

All Your Hosting Needs in One Place

If you are looking for a hosting provider with a very complete product selection, IdCloudHost is the answer. They are probably the provider with the most complete products in Indonesia – at least as far as I know. Do you know anything more complete than them?

In essence, whatever your needs in the world of hosting, chances are IdCloudHost provides them. This is very helpful because you don't need to look for another provider when your business grows.

However, keep in mind that the number of products does not always guarantee quality. I feel that the diversity of products offered by IdCloudHost currently makes me doubt their focus.

Being a “palugada” provider also has its own challenges. Providers that have a specific focus are usually more in-depth in their product development and support. For example, developers who are serious about VPS might prefer DigitalOcean or AWS because they focus on cloud infrastructure and have a strong reputation for performance and reliability.

6. Free Domain and Hosting Migration or Transfer

If you already have a website hosted elsewhere, IdCloudHost can help you move it for free. Apart from that, you will get a hosting discount of up to 70% while the promotion period is still ongoing.

And for those of you who are just starting to create a website, you will get free domain 1 year, which unfortunately you will only get if you subscribe to the minimum "Business Pro" package with a duration of 1 year.

7. Running Many Social Programs To Help Many PeopleI think this can be included as one of the advantages of Id

Cloud

Host. It's not about the service, but what they do to help many people should be appreciated.

IdCloudHost has CSR programs such as:

Beasiswa Scholarship Program: Indonesian youth will be given scholarships until graduation + given work experience and other benefits.
NGO Digital Program: Free hosting, domain and website creation will be provided for NGOs or Non-Government Organizations with certain terms and conditions with the aim of helping NGOs expand their impact through digital access.
Ekabima Program: With the aim of developing a developed Indonesia. IdCloudHost helps schools get free hosting and .sch domains, as well as creating free websites with terms and conditions applied.
Pesantren Program: Program to build digitalization for Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia.

8. Has a complete guide page and hosting dictionary which is especially useful for novice users

IdCloudHost has a useful guide page especially for their new or novice users. I have checked the content and it looks complete, starting from billing, affiliates, how to order, to WordPress.

Disadvantages of Using IdCloudHost

Server stability has become a crucial issue for IdCloudHost since I published my first IdCloudHost review in 2018. Even though there have been significant improvements, the latest uptime monitoring results in 2024 show a decline back to unsatisfactory performance.

Apart from that, in my notes there are several other shortcomings that need to be corrected by IdCloudHost, which I will discuss in detail below.

1. No Hosting Guarantee!

I don't know when they changed their service policy, but as of January 19, 2023, I found that there was a very surprising update from IDCloudHost.

What's that?

IdCloudHost has made very "good" "improvements" to its service policy where currently all IDCloudHost service transactions cannot be refunded or refunded.

In other words, I can say that they are no longer confident in the quality of the products they have, because they don't dare to provide a refund guarantee if any of their new customers are disappointed with their service.

I hope that there are no more hosting providers that have very unfair policies like IDCloudHost. If you don't know, apart from them, Qwords, Rumahweb, HostinganID and Jetorbit also have the same policy.

2. Advanced Pro and Corpote packages are expensive and not worth it

Personally, I don't think you need the Advanced Pro hosting plan and all the Corporate plans. My advice, take the VPS package as well if you are at corporate level or if you have a budget of 100,000/month .

Host Hosting Price Jump: Now One of the Most Expensive

Update as of April 2025: Hosting prices at IdCloudHost have experienced a significant increase for all cloud hosting packages. For example, the Basic Pro package which was previously set at IDR 30,000/month is now IDR 45,000/month. Similarly, the Entrepreneur Pro package has also increased from IDR 50,000/month to IDR 75,000/month.

Unfortunately, this high price is also not offset by a fair refund guarantee policy.

Free domain: If you purchase at least the “Business Pro” package

There will always be three factors that become benchmarks in all my reviews, namely:

Stable uptime (IdCloudHost's average uptime for the last 9 months is impressive)

- Succeed in load load testing

I recommend IdCloudHost because their average uptime record in the last 9 months is very good and their average server response time is also the fastest
However, what you need to pay attention to is that they do not offer a money back guarantee, so consider this carefully when you want to commit directly for example, immediately 1 or 2 years ahead
